Floral Jeogori
Light floral silk with soft ruffle details

In the court registers of Joseon, the Cheollik was never merely garment — it was grammar. A language of rank, movement, and belonging worn across six centuries of Korean ceremony. TCHAI KIM returns to this primary vocabulary not to quote history, but to speak it again in a new register.
The motif woven through this piece draws from the acrobatic energy of the Namsadangpae, wandering performers whose costumes were a kind of portable architecture: layered, asymmetric, alive.

We make it breathe again.”— KIM YOUNGJIN, FOUNDER & CREATIVE DIRECTOR

THE MATERIAL
Sourced from a third-generation weaving atelier in Gyeonggi-do, the 80-count silk cotton blend that forms each Cheollik piece achieves two seemingly contradictory qualities: structural weight and effortless movement. The tight count produces a matte depth characteristic of Joseon court textiles, while the natural elasticity of the cotton content allows the pleated skirt panels to billow with the body rather than against it.
